Welcome to the Spanaway Lions Club

Lions is a community service organization made up of men and women of all ages,
from various businesses and professions, who share a love of serving our Community together.  Our activities have been
supporting services to the blind, the elderly, and many youth activities here in Spanaway for over 30 years.
Our motto - and that of Lions Clubs International's - is "We Serve".

Our meetings feature interesting guest speakers, a minor amount of Club business, and a significant amount of social interaction.

It only takes a small amount of your time to make a big difference in the Community.
So contact us today, and learn more about how you can be a part of a wonderfully fulfilling mission.

Become a Lion and you will be part of Lions Clubs International, the largest, most influential

service club in the world. There are over 41,000 clubs in 179 countries, with a membership exceeding 1,400,000.

Why Be A Lion?

1. Lions Clubs International is the largest service organization in the world!
2. Here is an opportunity to serve your community with deeds and actions.
3. Here is an opportunity to learn leadership skills and practice fellowship. Our club is democratic in every respect. Officers are elected by the general membership. We ask our members to work on community projects and attend dinner meetings only when they are able and have the time.
4. We are known as the "working" service club of Spanaway. And, we have fun while serving the community.
5, Our dinner meetings are held in the evening - after working hours and are generally 1 to 1  1/2 hours long. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm. If you desire to eat at home before attending the meeting that is perfectly acceptable and many of our members do so.
6. Our club dues are only $70 per year and can be paid semi-annually in July and January.
7. We firmly believe in the importance of the family unit and encourage both spouses to become Lions.
8. We only ask our members to contribute service - not money. Every cent of any fund raising project is placed in our activity fund for community projects.
9. Our Objectives: To be better citizens and to help build our community through service and helping those less fortunate than us. To encourage service minded individuals to serve their community without financial reward.
10. Community Services:
  • Eye Exams and eyeglasses for less fortunate community citizens.
  • Hearing aids for those less fortunate.
  • Collecting used eyeglasses to be sent to 3rd world countries.
  • International Youth Exchange Program
  • Holiday food certificates (Thanksgiving and Christmas) for needy families in the area.
  • Children's "Peace Poster" contest.
  • Easter Egg Hunt for Children with Special Needs
  • Spanaway Historical Society Museum work program
  • Washington Special Olympics Program
  • Lions Eye Bank
  • Free health screenings for local citizens.
